Lakefest 2011

Every year on the 3rd weekend of July we head to the lake to celebrate Lakefest  This is when they do their fireworks as well.  They have vendors downtown, rides and food and of course there is plenty of fun in the sun!  This year we met Kris and his family and dad there to hang out.  As usual, we had a great time!  I think Landon would move to the lake if he could (until the winter time when he realized there was nothing to do b/c it was too cold to swim).

We look forward to this every year and cannot wait until next year's festivities!

First Day of 1st grade!

Landon started 1st grade last Monday, July 11th.  He was very excited to be in the first grade, excited about his teacher and his new school supplies.  I took him on the first day and he was good until we got to the door.  He was a little nervous at first but once he was in and I left he had a great day!

I cannot believe we have a 1st grader already...we cannot wait to see what this year holds for him!

Cool dudes...

Life and Science Museum...

Josh and I decided to take the boys to the Durham Life and Science Museum last Saturday.  Josh's parents met us there and we spent several hours exploring.  It was a hot day but we had a great time!  Parker enjoyed the playarea inside the most and the train and Landon liked it all!

Durham Bulls!!!

A few Fridays ago we were fortunate enough to celebrate the life of Cameron Fisher at the Durham Bulls game.  Last year and this year for his "birthday" his parents hosted a get together at the Durham Bulls game.  It is nice to get together to remember that sweet little boy and to ensure our kids remember him as the years go on.
The weather was not so great and we had to leave at the top of the 3rd but we had a great time!

July 5th celebration!

Holly Springs celebrated the 4th on the 5th of July.  We had originally all planned to attend but that was my first day back to work and Parker was exhausted from his fun day at home with daddy so we all had dinner together and Josh and Landon decided to head to Womble Park.  Almost as soon as they got there it rained.  Landon was able to get his face painted, jump in a few bounce houses and have some junk.  They waited out the storms and were able to see the fireworks!  They both reported back how much fun they had and even recorded some of the fireworks for me...so thoughtful!

Happy 4th of July!

In years past we have spent the 4th at the lake.  However, this year we decided to stay home.  We had a pretty laid back day.  We had lunch with Josh's parents and then a cookout that evening with the Jones and Weller family.

The kids had a great time watching the fireworks at home (thanks JJ) and playing!
