Where does time go?

Tomorrow we will celebrate Landon's 4th birthday! I cannot believe that my "baby" is going to be 4 and that he is not a baby anymore. It feels like yesterday that he was born and now I sit here with a tear in my eye thinking about how fast he is growing up.

I try really hard to remember all the funny and sweet things that he does. One of the things I love the most is when out of the blue he says "I love you mommy" or when he tells people that he is going to marry his mommy. Of course I know this is not true, but he is so adamant that he is going to stay with me forever!

I am posting a picture from birth till now.....boy has he changed!

Christmas 2008

I decided that I should go ahead and post Christmas pics tonight b/c I will need to post Landon's birthday ones in the next few days!

Christmas was fabulous as we got to spend lots of time with friends and family. We have been blessed in so many ways and Christmas is a reminder of those blessings. We spent Christmas Eve at Ma's house (Santa knew we would be there, Landon made sure of it),opened Santa there on Christmas day and headed to Papa Joyce's around 11am. Landon was loaded up there and again we got to spend more time with family and friends. We spent the night there and then headed back to Holly Springs on Friday. Friday night we did Christmas with Papa and Nana Dunbar and again Landon received way too much.

All in all, we ate too much, received lots of nice gifts, spent lots of time with family and tried to do as little as possible. Christmas was a success!

Here are a few pics from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!!!!

Way behind!

I have not posted in a while so I think I am all caught up now. December is a busy month for us as it is with everyone so I have not had time to catch up.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and Merry Christmas to you all!

Brunch with Santa

Today we went to the club and had Brunch with Santa. The whole family and the Jones's joined us. We had a great time and got some cute pictures! I feel confidant that Santa knows what Landon wants now....I think we have seen him at least 4 times!

Christmas with the Jones's

We got together with the Jones's last night so the kids could exchange gifts! We ate pizza and let the kids play and as always had a fabulous time!
Everyone liked their gifts and did not want the night to end. So, being the sucker I am, I let Landon and Colby have their first sleepover! They actually did pretty well and are already asking when the next one will be. Landon is so lucky that his best buddy lives so close and that they are able to see each other so often!

Notice the outfits in the pictures. They were playing dress up prior to the gift exchange and did not want to change...priceless!

Another party!

Josh's work had a family Christmas party this past Friday. The Grinch made a special visit to see the kids and brough them all a present. Landon was a little unsure at first, but we reassured him that it was the nice Grinch. We have watched the movie a million times so he knows all about the Grinch!

Preschool Christmas Play

This was Landon's first debut in a Christmas program. He was sooooo excited about being in the play. He practiced his songs at home, especially in the shower. He was an angel and he did a fabulous job! I was such a proud mommy. He sang and did his hand motions throughout the program!

After the program, his class had their Christmas party. They exchanged books and had yummy food. He is now officially on Christmas Break!

Visit with Santa

Last week we made our way to Crabtree to get our annual picture with Santa. For those of you who do not live here, that is the best mall to see Santa....very pretty! Landon was excited to see him and told him he only wanted 3 things this year...sure wish I knew that before!

Here are some pics from our visit!

Dunbar Annual Christmas Party!

Last Saturday night was the annual Dunbar Christmas Party. We love doing this every year and it continues to grow. We had about 55 people here including kids. It is so much fun to get together with friends and family. For some, this is the only time we see them, which is sad.
Santa himself even made a surprise visit to the kids during the party! The kids loved it and everyone gave them their list!

Christmas Parade!

This year Landon and Josh were not in the parade so we got there super early to get good seats so we could see everything! It was SUPER cold but Landon had a great time watching. He saw some kids doing Karate, so now that is the new obsession! The parade lasted 2 1/2 hours which is way to long for me but we had to wait until the end to see Santa!

Answered Prayers!

This time of year we reflect on our many blessings, our amazing family and friends. I feel truly blessed this year for so many things, but most of all my amazing husband, fantastic little boy, GREAT friends and family, great jobs and our health.

This past weekend the Jones Family experienced a blessing. Mackenzie was hospitalized and there were some very scary and unsure moments as they waited for test results. I prayed awfully hard for that little girl and of course her parents, who happen to be our closest friends. I am happy to report that she came home yesterday and acting as a 19 month old should act. So many people have reached out to them and prayed for a speedy recovery and good news!

I would like to thank all our friends/family who reached out to us and offered to help us with Landon. I am not going to name any names b/c I know I will leave someone out, but THANK YOU all for the offers...it really meant a lot to Josh and I.

So I wrap this post up by reminding you to take a moment this holiday season and rejoice in the many blessings we all have!

Disney on Ice!

Amy and I took Colby and Landon to see Disney on Ice Wednesday night. We had a great time and the boys enjoyed the showed!

Landon could not figure out how Mickey and friends got to the RBC from Florida. He was much impressed that he saw them at Disney and then they were where the Wolfpack plays basketball!!

Leaves!

Do they ever stop falling? Trees are great to have, just not this time of year when all the leaves fall off. Josh worked hard on Saturday racking/mowing leaves while Landon went to the birthday party for Jesus at church and I went shopping. When we got back Landon got to enjoy the leaves too!

Disney Pictures!

Back to the grind!

We are back from Disney and back to reality. I promise to post pictures from our trip soon. Between being sick and getting Christmas decorations out and up, I have not had time.

We had a GREAT time in Disney and it was so cool to see the "magic" through Landon's eyes. We did a lot and were exhausted when we returned, but it was all worth it!!!

Picture to come.....

Carter Babies!

After our girls night out/baby shower, Amy, Hagan and I went over to the Carter home to get our hands on those sweet little baby girls. Cora and Carolina are too cute and growing everyday. Cora is 8lbs and Carolina is 7lbs 10oz (I hope that is right April?). We got to hold and love on them and then give them back!

Here are a few pics of the cuties (and of course their parents)!

Baby Shower/Girls Night Out!

Last night some good friends of mine got together for a mini baby shower for a long time friend. Lauran and Barry are expecting a little girl early February so we decided to go ahead and celebrate!
We ate at B. Christophers in Burlington(which was very yummy) and spent quite a bit of time catching up and telling stories about Labor and delivery, what happens to your body after baby and how much fun it is to go without sleep for months! I think we pretty much scared Lauran to death!
Lauran got some cute things for baby McClure and of course we had to have a cupcake, b/c what is a shower without cake?!?!

All in all, we had a great time catching up and pampering the mother to be with a few gifts!!!

Obsessed!

This is how we find him at night before we go to bed!!!

Landon is completely obsessed with the toy catalogs that come in the mail. Now I know that kids like to look through them, but our child will not go anywhere without his catalogs, even to bed!

It has been a while!

I have not posted in a while so I am going to play catch up in this post.

We started off with carving our pumpkin which is always interesting. It is fun to see how Landon has progressed..he actually touched the stuff inside, which of course was HUGE!

Halloween was a huge success! We started the day with Landon getting to dress up to go to school, followed by games, trick-or treating and a party. That was followed by trick-or- treating in the neighborhood that night. Landon had a great time but enjoyed handing out candy as much as getting it.

So all in all, October was a fabulous month and we are now into November which will bring exciting things as well. Hint: It has to do with an airplane and Mickey Mouse but Shhhh....Landon does not know yet!
